Summary

Brick gate piers of mid-18th-century date at rear entrance to Swaffham Sixth Form Centre. These gate piers were rebuilt in the 19th century and carry stone finial in the form of vases with gadrooned decoration and pineapple caps. They were Listed Grade II in 1973, along with a pair of gate piers and adjoining wall of similar age adjacent to 18 Market Place (NHER 68114).

Listing Description excerpt:
"Gate piers. c.1740, rebuilt 19th century. Two square-section red-brick gate piers carrying stone finials on square bases: finials in form of vases with gadrooned decoration and pineapple caps."
