Full Description
March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
An earthwork bank visible on aerial photographs (S1) may be a former post medieval field boundary, or a former road or track. More recent aerial photographs from 2022 (S2) and visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S3) show that the earthwork has been levelled. The feature lies within Vicarage Park (NHER 33465) and may relate to a tree-lined walk recorded has having led from a small pleasure ground surrounding the former vicarage (NHER 46173) at the southern end of the bank to the church (NHER 2890) to the north (S4).
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 7 March 2024.
