Full Description
March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The ring ditch described below is probably one of those recorded previously as part of NHER 2865.
A partial ring ditch, almost certainly a post medieval tree ring, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1-S2) within Vicarage Park (NHER 33465). Possible remnants of the earthwork may be visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S3), but it appears to have been substantially levelled. It is one of several tree rings recorded in the park. It corresponds with a tree clump depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S4).
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 8 March 2024.
