Full Description
April 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Ridge and furrow of probable post medieval date and boundary or drainage ditches of post medieval (perhaps medieval to post medieval) date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (S1). More recent aerial photographs from 2022 (S2) and visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S3) show that the earthworks have been entirely (or almost entirely) levelled (a fragment of a pond may survive). The features form part of a swathe of earthworks of broadly medieval to post medieval date located along Watery Lane.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 15 April 2024.
