Map

Post-medieval barn at Dairy Farm. This barn is shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S1) and is possibly the same building as one depicted at roughly this location on the Ormesby St Margaret tithe map (S2), although this is shown to have a 'T'-shaped footprint.

November 2021. Photographic Survey.
Basic survey of barn ahead of its proposed conversion to a residential dwelling.
Probably originally a threshing barn, the southern elevation retains its large original opening. The northern elevation is obscured by later outshuts - only the central section of which (in the position of the original opening) is open to the main body of the barn. The barn had clearly seen much in the way of ongoing repairs and adaptation during the 20th century, when much of the original roof was replaced. At the time of the survey the barn was in poor condition and being used as a store.
See report (S3) for further details and photographs.
