Summary

The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, pit feature or boundary of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs. The origin and date of the feature is uncertain. It is possible that the feature could relate to a ring ditch of an unknown date, a possible post medieval extractive pit or a natural feature. The feature also appears to align with a circular post medieval boundary recorded on the Shipdham Tithe map.

The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, pit feature or boundary of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs. The origin and date of the feature is uncertain. The feature is visible as a ring ditch or circular bank feature on S1 and is visible as a pit feature on S3. The feature is also faintly visible on S2. It is possible that the feature could relate to a ring ditch of an unknown date, a possible post medieval extractive pit, or a natural feature. The feature also appears to align with a circular boundary recorded on the Shipdham Tithe map (S4) . As the origin of the feature is uncertain, the feature has been mapped by extent. The cropmarks of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 25768) are also recorded approximately 100m to the southeast.
