Full Description
June 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of boundary ditches, which may relate to field boundaries of an unknown date, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). Although the date of the features is unknown, a medieval to post medieval date is likely. However, an earlier date for the features cannot be ruled out. The features are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps such as S4-S6. Cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries which are recorded on the readily historic maps, are also visible on the consulted aerial photographs (S1-S3). These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the readily accessible historic maps (S4-S6).
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 27 June 2024.
