NHER 67767 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of probable medieval field boundaries and a possible medieval to post medieval parish boundary

The cropmarks of probable medieval field boundaries and a possible medieval to post medieval parish boundary ditch are seen on aerial photographs (S1). Although the features are likely to be medieval in date, a later post medieval date, cannot be ruled out. It is also possible that the north - south aligned feature (centred at approximately TF 8834 1269) may have related to a parish boundary ditch between the modern parishes of Little Dunham and Fransham (previously Great Fransham). The feature is on a similar alignment to the parish boundary as depicted on the readily available historic maps such as S2-S5. However, it is also possible that this feature may have related to a former field boundary. Multi-period finds (NHER 20519 and NHER 31147) have also been previously recovered from the area surrounding the site.
