Summary

Earthwork banks and ditches of a probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on visualised lidar data. As the survey was flown relatively recently (2017) the features likely still survive as low earthworks. The features most likely relate to post medieval field boundaries. However, a medieval date for the features cannot be ruled out.

Map

Earthwork banks and ditches of a probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on visualised lidar data (S1). As the survey was flown relatively recently (2017) the features likely still survive as low earthworks. The features most likely relate to post medieval field boundaries. However, a medieval date for the features cannot be ruled out. The features are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps (such as S2 and S3) but do fit the same general pattern and orientation of the field boundaries recorded on S2 and S3. The bank and ditch in the south of area (centred at TF 8663 1004) appears to be within an area of parkland (recorded on S3) associated with Necton Hall. It is therefore possible that these features could relate to a post medieval park or garden feature.
