Summary

A watching brief maintained during groundworks at this location in 2016 recorded no archaeologically-significant remain. Only modern features were observed and it was clear the site had been heavily disturbed during the recent demolition of two cottages.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new dwelling and detached garage.
The footing trenches excavated for the new house revealed only a pit containing modern debris of likely mid-20th-century date. This area was found to have been significantly disturbed during the demolition of two cottages that had previously stood at the same location as the new building.
The trenches excavated for the new garage also revealed no archaeologically-significant remains, with only a modern pit or soakaway and a modern service exposed.
No finds were recovered.
