Full Description
June 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of probable field boundaries and a trackway of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S6). Although the date of the features is unknown, a medieval to post medieval date for the features is likely. The features do not appear on the readily accessible historic maps (such S7-S8) but do fit the same general pattern and alignment of the boundaries which are recorded on the historic maps However, an earlier than medieval date for the features cannot be ruled out. The features are in close proximity to the cropmarks of a post medieval trackway (NHER 66914) or road in the west of the area.
