Summary

A geophysical survey of this site in 2019 revealed no anomalies of potential archaeological interest. Subsequent trial trenching the same year had similarly negative results, with no archaeologically-significant features or deposits recorded.

June 2019. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site (Area 2).
This survey identified no potentially archaeologically-significant anomalies.
Strong discrete ferrous responses are the result of goalposts and similar features on a school playing field.
Scattered discrete dipolar anomalies were probably caused by ferrous objects on or close to the surface (most likely modern debris).

August 2019. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site (Trenches 18-19 and 21-25).
The seven trenches excavated at this location revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
