Full Description
May 2020-January 2021. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (F214).
This survey identified no anomalies of interest. There were though large areas of ferrous response (caused by farm machinery and modern debris) that may have masked archaeologically-significant anomalies. A north-west to south-east aligned linear anomaly towards the northern end of the field corresponds with a former field boundary and adjacent path shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S1).
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
P. Watkins (HES), 18 September 2024.
October 2020-June 2021. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (F214; Trenches 443).
A single trench excavated in the centre of this site revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
No finds were recovered.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
P. Watkins (HES), 18 September 2024.
