Map

November 2024. Fieldwalking.
A large concentration of burnt flint was recorded during fieldwalking over this area and the field to the south (NHER 64089).
75 locations were mapped within this field. At least 3-4 larger pieces of fire-crazed flint were observed at each location, often with additional small pieces. In general, burnt flint was present consistently about every 2-3m over both fields. Plough drag was also evident in some areas.
The majority of the material was left in situ, but a small sample was collected. Sample pieces ranged in size from approximately 2cm-7cm.
This may be evidence of Late Prehistoric, possibly Bronze Age, activity in the area.
