Summary

A visit to the site in 2000 noted that the shape of the mere, although obviously a natural feature, strongly indicates considerable alteration to form a wild fowl decoy. This likely would have taken place when Mickle Mere was part of Wretham Park (NHER 56270).

Map

19 July 2000. Field Observation (Visual Assessment).
The shape of the mere, although obviously a natural feature strongly indicates considerable alteration to form a wild fowl decoy. The 'pipes' or curving inlets are wholely comparable to those of known decoys.
This feature was previously recorded under NHER 9001.
