November-December 2020. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The 32 trenches excavated revealed little in the way of archaeologically-significant remains, with only two undated ditches recorded. These parallel north-north-west to south-south-east aligned features were encountered at the southern edge of the site and potentially bounded some form of trackway.
The unstratified finds recovered were all of late post-medieval or modern date (none of which were retained).
See report (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 6 February 2025.
