Full Description
February 2025. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks and earthworks of possible field boundaries of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs from 2017 (S1) and visualised lidar data from a survey also flown in 2017 (S2). Although the date of the features is unknown, the features likely date to the post medieval period. It is also possible that the ditch feature in the east of the area (centred at approximately TF 9573 1336) could be a post medieval to modern drainage ditch. The possible field boundaries are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps such as S3. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that any earthworks still survive.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 13 February 2025.
