Summary

Probable boundary ditches and a probable boundary bank of a likley medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs and as a low earthwork on visualised lidar data. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is likely that the boundary bank still survives as an earthwork. The features likely relate to post medieval field boundaries. However, a medieval date for features cannot be ruled out.

Map

Probable boundary ditches and a probable boundary bank of a likely medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S2) and as an earthwork on visualised lidar data (S1). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is likely that the boundary bank still survives as a low earthwork. The features likely relate to post medieval field boundaries. However, a medieval date for the features cannot be ruled out. It is also possible that some of the ditch features could relate to post medieval to modern drainage. The cropmarks of post medieval boundaries recorded on the readily available historic maps are also visible across the area on S1. These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps (S3-S4).
