Summary

A probable post medieval field boundary is visible as a low earthwork on visualised lidar data, from a survey flown in 2017. Other, similar features visible in this and surrounding fields on the same sources correspond with field boundaries depicted on 19th-century maps and are not included in the record. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthwork still survives.

Full Description

March 2025. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A probable post medieval field boundary is visible as a low earthwork on visualised lidar data (S1), from a survey flown in 2017. Other, similar features visible in this and surrounding fields on the same source correspond with field boundaries depicted on 19th-century maps, such as the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2), and are not included in the record. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is likely that the earthwork still survives.
