Full Description
March 2025. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable post medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). Several of the features appear to correspond with field boundaries depicted on the 19th century Enclosure Map (S3). Most of the others are likely to have originally been contemporary with these, although they fell out of use at an earlier date. The westernmost boundary follows a different alignment to the others and could represent a different phase of enclosure. An earlier, medieval origin for the group is also possible, but there is currently no direct evidence for this.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 18 March 2025.
