Summary

A rectangular building constructed of red brick with a tile roof covering, built in 1921 for the Norwich Co-operative Society. The building was used as a Co-op store until 1983 when it was divided into several shops, then turned into a single restaurant in the 1990s. It was listed Grade II in 2025.

20-22 Market Street
A rectangular building constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond and a roof covering of plain tiles with curved ridge tiles. The building was constructed in 1921 for the Norwich Co-operative Society. It was in used as a Co-op store until 1983, when it was divided into several commercial units. The ground floor was turned back into a single premise in the 1990s and is in use as a restaurant.
The building faces south to Market Street and is two storeys tall and five bays wide. The upper storey is rendered and the roof is hipped with dentilled eaves. The five bays on the ground floor all hold shopfronts, aside from the easternmost bay which has a pair of double doors. The bays are separated by six panelled-brick pilasters.
The ground floor consists mostly of one open space with C21 renovations, including a restaurant kitchen and cloakrooms. The upper floor consists of a function room with pannelling throughout and a wooden dance floor. A stage is at the west end of the room.
