Full Description
September 2020. Systematic Metal-detecting Survey.
Survey of proposed development site. The more notable finds included:
1 post-medieval coin (French; 1655), 2 jettons, a buckle, book clasp and coin weight.
2 late post-medieval military uniform buttons (19th century).
Late post-medieval/modern railway uniform button.
4 World War Two bullets (.303 calibre aircraft ammunition) and copper alloy cylindrical object (likely from an aircraft electrical fitting).
?World War Two aluminium fragment (potentially a fragment of aircraft fuselage).
No objects were recovered below topsoil depth.
Other items recovered during the survey but not retained included plain late post-medieval buttons, unidentifiable object fragments, modern coinage and modern rubbish.
