Summary

A watching brief maintained during the installation of a new sewer pipeline in 2013 recorded a possible ditch and a number of possible pits at this location – all of which were undated. It should be noted that these remains were recorded in far from ideal conditions during the excavation of the pipe trench itself. Overburden was also not fully removed during the initial strip of the working easement, with the surviving subsoil layer potentially masking any additional remains present.
