Map

August 2024. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified a number of linear responses, including two north-north-west to south-south-east aligned anomalies that correspond with former field boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S1). Three additional north-north-west to south-south-east aligned linear anomalies were recorded at the western edge of this field. The central, most distinct of these is probably a ditch but the nature of the adjacent responses is more uncertain.
The survey also recorded of number of faint north-north-east to south-south-aligned linear possible cultivation traces in the central part of the field that potentially represent the remnants of medieval ridge and furrow.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
