Map

July 2021. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The seven trenches excavated revealed little of archaeological interest, with remains being limited to a pit, a post-hole, a probable natural feature and two linear features - none of which produced any dating evidence. The pit was the most notable of these features and was circular with a dark charcoal-flecked fill. The two linear features were both aligned roughly east-to-west but neither was identified in adjacent trenches so their nature is unclear.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
