Map

September 2013. Watching Brief.
Maintained during works undertaken as part of the River Nar Restoration Project (The Carr, west section).
The monitored groundworks at this location consisted largely of in-river excavations to create deeper pools and wider shelves. Along this stretch the river bed had a compacted limed surface that was up to 0.1m deep. The only find recovered from the material disturbed by the excavations was a small fragment of heavily abraded Roman tile.
See report (S1) for further details.
