Summary

This Gothick stable court to the north of Ingoldishorpe Hall (NHER 12680) dates to c.1830 and consists of 'L'-plan stable ranges with curtain walls and angle towers forming a rectangular court. The roofs are slate and the walls consist of coursed carstone rubble, squared coursed carstone blocks and ashlar dressings.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Stable court, c.1830. Carstone coursed rubble, squared coursed carstone blocks, ashlar dressings, slated roofs. Single storey 'L'-plan stable ranges with two curtain walls with arches forming rectangular court with two angle towers. Gothick. East front at south has octagonal angle tower with dressed stone quoins and battlements, to centre curtain wall with four-centred arch opening, to north apparently three-storey rectangular battlemented tower, but to north and west actually of one storey with lean-to roof above. East front of 'tower' has one ground floor casement, first and second floor windows are painted boards with Gothick tracery. Quoins and battlements. Lower battlemented curtain wall to the with single storey arched entrance beyond. South curtain wall with four-centred arch. North has two casements and one Gothick traceried four-centred door to court. West range to court two double carriage doors and one Gothick door. South return of west range has gable flanked by two rectangular towers."
