Summary

A watching brief maintained during the excavation of a new soke dyke at this location between 2008 and 2010 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. There was therefore no evidence for surviving remains associated with possible post-medieval ridge and furrow earthworks recorded at this location, although a collection of predominantly post-medieval finds was recovered during the work. These included coins, pottery sherds, a brick fragment, bottle glass, pieces of clay tobacco pipe and a possible writing slate.
