Summary

A watching brief maintained during the excavation of a new soke dyke at this location between 2008 and 2010 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. A collection of unstratified, predominantly post-medieval finds recovered in one field are recorded separate, under NHER 52762.

Monitoring of excavation of new soke dyke as part of the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project (Compartment 11).
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were recorded during the excavation of this dyke. A collection of unstratified, predominantly post-medieval finds recovered at TG48220984 (Site 12) is recorded separately, under NHER 52762.
There was no evidence for surviving remains associated with a group of probable medieval to post-medieval enclosures and associated ditches visible as earthworks on aerial photographs at TG 4837 0970 (NHER 42206).
Adaptions were made to the scheme to maintain the existing dykes at the eastern end of this site, which relate to former drainage mills (NHER 15574).
