Summary

A watching brief maintained during the creation of a carparking area at this site in 2018 revealed nothing of archaeological interest – largely due to the limited depth of the groundworks. Finds were limited to late post-medieval metal objects.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of carparking area.
The site was subject to only minimal ground reduction, stripping being limited to the modern topsoil. As a result, nothing of archaeological interest was revealed.
A late post-medieval coin and a 19th-century military button were the only unstratified finds recovered.
