Summary

A systematic fieldwalking and metal-detector survey of part of this field in 2021 recovered a small number of prehistoric worked flints; a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe fragment; medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval token and a number of other, undated and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a medieval mount; a medieval/post-medieval mount and a post-medieval button and lead pistol balls.

January-February 2025. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Field 147).
No significant concentrations of material were identified. Finds recovered included:
1 prehistoric flint side and end scraper, 1 retouched blade-like flake, 1 retouched flake, 1 blade-like flake and 3 flakes.
2 copper alloy unidentified objects, an unidentified lead object, 4 pieces of lead waste and iron nail.
2 medieval coins and a mount.
4 ?medieval pottery sherds.
Medieval/post-medieval mount.
2 post-medieval coins, 1 token, 1 clay tobacco pipe fragment, a button and 2 lead pistol balls.
