Summary

These brick walls surrounding the walled garden at Wolterton Hall (NHER 6711) date to around the early 18th century. They have pantile cappings, some flat brick buttresses, vehicular gateways with square brick piers and segmental-headed foot gateways.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Kitchen garden walls. Circa early 18th century. English bond and Flemish bond red brick with red clay pantile capping. Boundary wall to large rectangular kitchen garden with smaller rectangular compartment adjoining [to] south east. The north wall is not parallel with the south wall. Some flat brick buttresses. Square brick piers to vehicular gateways on north and south sides of main compartment. Segmental-headed foot gateways."
