NHER 66081 (Monument record) - Late post-medieval and undated ditches

May 2020-January 2021. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Area F314).
This survey identified little of potential archaeological interest. Although an east-to-west aligned linear anomaly is likely to represent an infilled ditch this clearly corresponds with a former field boundary shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S1).
Scattered discrete dipolar 'spikes' were probably caused by ferrous material on or close to the surface, most likely modern debris.
There was no evidence for surviving sub-surface remains associated with a north-to-south aligned probable former field boundary visible as a low earthwork on visualised lidar data at TF 9391 1194 (part of a group of features of probable post-medieval date recorded as NHER 68839).

Evaluation of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Area F314; Trenches 313 and 314).
The single trench excavated at this location was placed to coincide with the linear anomaly identified by the preceding geophysical survey and shown to correspond with a former field boundary depicted on a 19th-century map. A corresponding ditch was recorded, along with two adjacent, parallel ditches. None of these features produced any dating evidence.
