NHER 66082 (Monument record) - Undated ditches and possible pit

May 2020-January 2021. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Area F315).
This survey identified nothing of potential archaeological interest. The majority of the small discrete anomalies recorded are probably natural in origin, while scattered discrete dipolar 'spikes' were probably caused by ferrous material on or close to the surface - most likely modern debris.
There was no evidence for surviving sub-surface remains associated with a pair of east-to-west aligned banks visible as low earthworks on visualised lidar data of this location (NHER 68840).

Evaluation of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Area F315; Trench 315).
The single trench excavated at this location revealed three adjacent east-to-west aligned ditches and a single possible pit. It is noted that the profiles of the ditches suggest that they were potentially machine-cut modern features, although it is possible that at least one was associated with a similarly-aligned former field boundary shown at approximately this location on an 1814 enclosure map (S1). None of these features produced any dating evidence.
