Map

October 2024. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of large proposed development area (LP_023).
This survey of land to either side of an overhead power line identified a number of linear anomalies likely to represent infilled ditches, although the majority correspond with former field boundaries shown on the West Walton Tithe map (S1). A north-north-west to south-south-east aligned response does though potentially represent an earlier boundary ditch. A network of sinuous palaeochannels is also visible across the entire site, reflecting the former presence of tidal flats at this location.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
