Full Description
January 2025. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of part of site of proposed solar farm (Area 1).
This survey identified little of potential archaeological interest. Although several north-to-south and east-to-west aligned linear anomalies are likely to represent infilled ditches these all correspond with former field boundaries shown on the Tivetshall St Margaret Tithe map. A linear anomaly running parallel to the western edge of the site is associated with a modern track and various other linear responses relate to recent agricultural activity.
Scattered dipolar 'spikes' and areas of magnetic disturbance at the margins of the field were probably caused by ferrous material on or close to the surface – most likely modern debris.

February 2025. Desk-based Assessment.
Assessment of potential impact of proposed solar farm.
