Summary

In 1948 a trial hole recovered a sherd of Roman pottery, a medieval sherd, a number of late medieval to early post medieval sherds, and a flower panel from a Bellarmine jug. The recovery of a number of post medieval tin-glazed sherds has led to the suggestion that this may have been a kiln site specialising in this form of glaze.
