North west corner of Pitt Street and St. Martins Lane.
Seen in trench for telephone cables ? 'V' shaped area of dark soil.
Only upper 1.8m (6 feet) exposed and about 10.7m (35 feet) wide at top.
?Saxon ditch cut into yellowish sands.
Seen after part infilled.

Natural level seems to be between 1.8m and 2.1m (6 feet and 7 feet) down in that area.
