Summary

In 1966 to 1967 five cuttings were opened in this area, which was previously the site of a gasworks, and two produced material. A number of walls and foundations were found, as well as pottery from the 13th-17th centuries. This site overlaps two later excavation sites (NHER 154, NHER 156) from which evidence for Late Saxon to post medieval period was recovered.
