Summary

This dyke is mentioned as an earthwork bank forming a flood defence in 1604. It forms part of the parish boundary between Methwold and Hilgay and may have originally extended much further to become the Southery to Hilgay boundary.

Mentioned as an earthwork bank forming a flood defence in 1604 and as the boundary between Methwold and Hilgay. It may have extended much further than the above references, even continuing to become the Southery to Hilgay boundary, but this is uncertain.
