1 Palaeolithic ovate flint handaxe. See drawing (S1) and photograph (S2).
Described as probably Mousterian of Acheulian tradition, suggesting it was regarded as potentially associated with Late Middle Palaeolithic Neanderthal activity.
Identified by P. Robins (NCM), see description in file.
This discovery was first reported in (S3). It is also noted on (S4) and listed in (S5) and (S6), although no additional details are recorded (the NHER having been the source of this information).
W. Milligan (NCM), 23 August 1994. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 24 April 2013.
