Full Description
September-October 1996. Metal-detecting. [1].
Early Neolithic flint laurel leaf. Rather thick example, broken at one end. Mottled grey flint with slight patina and spotty iron staining. Dimensions (>47) by 29 by 11mm. Both faces carry a trace of cortex showing that the artefact was prepared from a piece of tabular flint or pebble, rather than the more usual flake blank.
