Summary

In 1978 the City undertook the clearance and restoration of this tower. They discovered around 1m of late post medieval debris and a possible 19th century brick-lined well just outside the entrance to the tower.

Around 1m of late post medieval debris was cleared from around the south west face of the tower and along the south face of the city wall adjacent. A ?19th century well (brick lined) was discovered around 2m outside the entrance to the tower.
