Summary

In 1969 chalk workings were found at the bottom of a pipe trench. The workings found apparently represented the junction of two shafts and two pieces of antler were found in the tunnel wall. The date of the tunnels and the antler pieces are unknown.

Chalk workings found 8ft below present (1969) ground surface at the bottom of a cable trench.
This could not be visited by NCM staff before backfilling but it apparently represented the junction of two shafts.
Two pieces of antler were found 'on a shelf' in the tunnel wall.
Possibly picks - W .F. Milligan (NCM) in 1977 though this dubious.
