Summary

A large group of former field boundaries, probably dating to the post medieval period, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The majority of the boundaries are on the same alignment as the modern system and are therefore likely to be elements of the post medieval field system that the present one developed from. One ditch recorded within this area appears to have a different alignment and is therefore is likely to of a different date or phase. This feature has been recorded under NHER 27741.

The site is centred on TF 8436 4141 and covers an area approximately 1km square. These ditched boundaries vary in width from 3m across to a massive 15m, although it seems likely that these linears have been spread by the plough action.
