Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2022 recovered Late Prehistoric flint flakes; Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a Roman box flue tile fragment; undatable copper alloy casting waste; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval to post-medieval tokens and a range of other Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch, copper alloy furniture stud and lead steelyard weights; Late Saxon brooches, a strap end and strirrup-strap mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval thimble, harness mount, harness pendant, openwork censer cover, figurine from processional cross, lead weights and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval sword or dagger pommel, copper alloy vessel fragments and lead weights and post-medieval back plates from furniture handles, a toy cannon, harness mount, lead weights, lead bird feeder and lead cloth seal.
