Full Description
March 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The remains of what appears to be a drove road leading onto the saltmarsh can be seen on RAF 1946 (S1) and 1952 (S2) aerial photographs, BKS aerial photographs from 1988 (S3), and Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1994/1995 (S4)-(S5). The date of this feature is unknown, but there is a possibility that it might be of post medieval origin.
This site (centred at TG 0174 4435) consists of parallel side ditches with an embanked path in the middle for most of the run from TG 0156 4404 to TG 0185 4449. Here it turns more northwards and continues on to TG 0181 4470; this last stretch does not appear to have the central embanked path.
H. Clare (NMP), 24 March 2003.
