Map

January 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A World War One practice trench on Kelling Heath, visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1). The site consists of a cross shaped arrangement of trenches centred on TG 1088 4094, measuring approximately 35m across. These are quite faint and overgrown in 1946 so it must be assumed that these were constructed as part of World War One training on the heath. This area of heath later gets ploughed and converted to arable.
S. Massey (NMP), 12 January 2004.
