Summary

Two medieval strip fields were observed here in 1948 but had been levelled by 1960. The features are still visible as low earthworks on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2021. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal detecting in this area during 1984-2005 recovered a variety of objects including Neolithic/Bronze Age flints, a coin of William III, a Roman Aesica brooch, a possible Roman votive stand and sherds of Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery.
