Summary

It was reported in 1960 that 'brick arches found' at this site, and on the other side of lane a 'hard standing of brick fragments, several bricks deep' was noted in a building drive. In 1977 no traces were visible, although a cropmark was visible on a local lawn. A brick kiln is marked here on the tithe map.

1959-60. West of Brickle (Brick Kiln) Lane.
'Brick arches found' at 2535 0205 (now under 'Pendine'). On other side of lane (2542 0208) a 'hard standing of brick fragments, several bricks deep' found in building drive to 'Woodsmoke'.

Visited E. Rose (NAU), 26 October 1977.
No traces visible, but under lawn of 'Pendine' something is causing a cropmark of faded grass.
